How do I use alcohol-based make-up?

Lightly moisten the compact colour with 99% isopropyl alcohol using a brush, then activate and build up in layers – from a sheer wash to full opacity. Let it dry completely before touching; the colour will set and become water-resistant.

What does alcohol-based make-up adhere to?

It works on skin, latex, silicone, foam prosthetics and most Glatzan/Syncap materials. It is not designed for fabric or hard plastics.

How do I remove it afterwards?

Use a dedicated remover such as FX Remover or Afterglow Vanish – plain water or soap alone won’t fully lift it, especially once it has dried and set.

What's the difference between an Ink Palette and Kryolan's FX Design Color?

Bluebird and Sideshow Ink Palettes are a creamy, richly pigmented ink formula favoured for character and injury work; Kryolan's FX Design Color is a compact, watercolour-like pigment built for fine layering and body paint. Both activate with the same isopropyl alcohol.

How long does an opened palette last?

Stored with the lid closed in a cool, dry place, an alcohol palette lasts for years – the colour may dry out slightly between uses, but reactivates instantly with a touch of alcohol.
